THE STORIES OUR BODIES HOLD

The Stories Our Bodies Hold is an artistic exploration of the relationship between the body and lived experience. Leyla understands the body as a lens through which our reality comes into focus. For her, the way we move through the outer world reflects our inner state. Her vision expands the concept of the body as more than a physical entity—it is a vessel of memories, emotions, and stories.

This body of work showcases the conversations that unfold while Leyla paints her muses. The stories spoken are shared through audio and visual art, creating an immersive experience that reveals both the body’s internal world and its external form. By leaning into the truth of who and what we are, The Stories Our Bodies Hold opens space for the audience to reflect and connect more intimately with themselves, and in turn, with the world around them.

This installation features excerpts of the stories spoken by each muse, the full versions of these conversations can be found on Substack. Listen and subscribe here.
